It's a story of heading back to the scene of the crime - or maybe, the scene of the miracle is more apt.
Rarely do we ever see a sporting event decided by "the last kick of the game" or the "hail mary" punch but back in February that is what happened at Croke Park.
Peter Hogan shuffled the ball to substitiuteHarry Ruddle just inside their own half of the pitch, the young-gun Ruddle burst up the pitch and utterly ignorant of how these things are supposed to play out, he rifled the ball to the back of the net from 35 yards out.
Queue the celebrations, the fanfare and possibly the most dramatic finish to a game of hurling that anyone has ever seen.
Ballygunner were All-Ireland Champions for the first time in the club's history. Ballyhale's hopes for three in a row were dashed and the Gunners could hardly believe what had just happened.
Since then, Darragh O'Sullivan's Gunners went on to win a ninth consecutive Waterford title - equaling the record held by Mount Sion and Erin's Own - as well as defending their Munster title. That win over Ballyea a few weeks ago set another record with Ballygunner becoming just the fifth team ever to win back-to-back Munster titles.
It seems fitting that these two sides will face off once again. There was only two points between them when Harry Ruddle decided to rip up the script. They deserve to return to Croke Park for round 2 to decide who goes on to the final.
While the Gunners were busy adding silverware to the trophy cabinet, Ballyhale have been similar. A fifth straight Kilkenny title was followed by a fourth straight Leinster crown, but the provincial title was not plain sailing by any stretch of the imagination.
