Ballygunner have claiemd their first ever four in a row after they overcame Eastern rivals De la Salle in this afternoon's Co. Senior hurling Championship Final in Walsh Park
The Gunners started brightly and Conor Power netted the games opening goal after 10 minutes following a great run by Brian O' Sullivan
David O' Sullivan and Pauric Mahony hit over further points for the defending champions but De La Salle responded as John Mullane got his first point of the afternoon while Shane Ryan hit over three frees in that opening period
Peter Hogan chipped in with a fine score from play as Ballygunner stretched their lead
Jack Fagan hit over a sideline cut and Shane Ryan also scored but it was the Gunners who went in leading at the break thanks to a Pauric Mahony point on the stroke of half-time, 1-10 to 0-9
Early second half points pushed the Gunners further ahead before Shane Ryan got De La Salle's opening point of the second half
The crucial score came midway through the second half and again it was Conor Power who was on hand to finish to the net
Ballygunner showed their class and dominated the remainder of the contest to run out 2-18 to 0-14 winners
