Both the Waterford U20 Footballers and the Waterford Minor Hurlers picked up impressive wins this evening in Munster action on what was a great night for Waterford GAA.

Waterford U20 Football Team delivered an emphatic performance to overcome Tipperary U20 Football Team in the Dalata Hotel Group Munster U20 Football Championship, running out convincing winners in Lemybrien.

Paul Powers men set the tone early and never looked back, finishing with an impressive tally of 1-17 to Tipperary’s 0-11.

The Déise were sharp and clinical up front, with Joe Brennan (0-5) and Paddy McCarthy (0-6) leading the scoring, while Daithi Colleran added a crucial goal to underline their dominance. Their movement and accuracy caused constant problems for the Tipperary defence.

At the other end, Waterford remained well organised, limiting Tipperary to just 11 points and maintaining control throughout the second half.

Overall, it was a composed and commanding display from Waterford, who will take plenty of confidence from this strong Munster championship showing

The Waterford Minors started the defence of the All-Ireland title with a victory against Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds,

Waterford held their nerve to record a strong 1-17 to 0-14 win over Limerick.

Dylan Murphy was in superb form, finishing with 0-10, including three frees.

Ryan Molumphy added 0-4, while Cian Delaney struck a vital 1-1.

Jack Mullaly and Jack Walsh also chipped in with a point each.

At the back, Darragh Murphy delivered an outstanding display at full-back.

Stephen Coffey was hugely influential around midfield, driving Waterford on.

Waterford showed great composure throughout to keep Limerick at arm’s length.

It was an excellent all-round performance for Darragh O’Sullivan’s men.
