A final round of level par at the Emilia-Romagna Alps Tour Grand Final was enough for Gary Hurley to secure the last of the five cards on offer for next seasons European Challenge Tour.

He finished on 7 under par, 7 behind fellow Irishman Jonathan Yates who took the title - but Veale could only finish tenth on the Order of Merit.
A number of top tens as well as capturing the Alps De Andalucia crown on June 25th was enough for Hurley to catapult himself up the leaderboard.
The 29-year-old will now move on as one of the men who captured the five sought after 2023 Challenge Tour cards along with Italy’s Gregorio De Leo, France’s Julien Sale, France’s Tom Vaillant (am) and Italy’s Stefano Mazzoli. France’s Tom Vaillant is expected to turn professional within the next few weeks. Gregorio De Leo won with a 6,078.5 pt advantage over the second ranked player - Julien Sale.
Next up for West Waterford man Gary is 2nd stage qualifying school for the DP World Tour at the beginning of November.
