The European Indoor Archery Championships 2026 will bring elite competition to Ireland from 2–6 March 2026.
Organisers will stage the event at the SETU Arena, West Campus, Carriganore, County Waterford. The Irish Field Archery Federation will host the Championships under the sanction of the International Field Archery Association. For the first time, Ireland will host an IFAA European Indoor Championships.
More than 460 competitors will travel to Waterford. That figure includes 140 Irish archers. Athletes will compete against Europe’s best in a showcase of precision and focus.
The Mayor of Waterford will officially open the Championships. Organisers have also invited special Irish guests to attend. The ceremony will celebrate Irish culture and deliver a memorable welcome for visiting teams.
International IFAA Representative Mark Deevy, a Waterford native, welcomed the decision to host the event locally.
“To see the European Indoor Archery Championships come to Waterford makes me incredibly proud,” he said.
“With over 460 competitors, including a record Irish entry, this event highlights the strength of our sport. It also proves Waterford can host world-class international competition. We look forward to welcoming archers, officials and spectators from across Europe.”
Athletes will compete inside the SETU Sports Arena, one of the largest indoor facilities in the southeast. The venue offers ideal conditions for top-level indoor archery.
The programme includes registration and practice sessions, several days of championship competition, and a closing banquet.
Organisers have opened the event to spectators. They encourage members of the public to attend and experience elite international sport up close.
Flahavans, Fáilte Ireland, Bohning and Titan Sports support the Championships. Their backing helps deliver a world-class event while promoting Irish sport and tourism across Europe.
Visitors can also explore Waterford’s heritage, coastline and hospitality during their stay.
