Waterford and Ferrybank athlete Ellis McHugh has been selected to represent Ireland at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The Olympic Federation of Ireland has selected 13 athletes to compete at this year’s European Youth Olympic Festival which takes place from July 20-27th.

McHugh will compete in the 400-metre hurdles as well as the medley relay.

  • Molly Daly (Kilkenny City Harriers) – 200m & Medley Relay
  • Joe Burke (Templemore AC) – 200m
  • Lorcán Forde Dunne (Ace AC) – 1500m
  • Matthew Newell (Tuam AC) – 5km Race Walk
  • Conor Penney (Craughwell AC) – High Jump
  • Ben Sykes (Orangegrove AC) – 100m
