Dungarvan United are into the last 16 of the FAI Junior Cup following and incredible game in front of a massive crowd in Kilrush Park last night. They trailed two nil at halftime when Greencastle striker Gerry Hegarty scored twice.
The writing appeared to be on the wall for the Old Borough when Nigel McGonagle made it three nil on 57 minutes.
Gavin Crotty pulled a goal back for Dungarvan a minute later and Crotty struck again to make it 3-2 on 83 minutes. Unbelievably Kevin Walsh equalised from the penalty spot in the last minute to take the game into extratime and Ryan Donnelly scored what proved to be the winner five minutes into extratime.
Final score, Dungarvan United 4 Greencastle of Donegal 3.
After the match an emotional Dungarvan manager Tommy Butler said it was one of Dungarvan's most historic victories of all time.
