A Dungarvan trainer has been honoured with a special recognition award this week.
John Kiely - affectionately known as The Gentleman of Racing - has been training for over 48 years.
Now 84 years young, Mr Kiely has won several top races, including the Irish Cesarewitch, the Leopardstown Gold Cup, the Galway Plate, and the Galway Hurdle.
A presentation was made at the races in Tramore on Tuesday, by Tramore Chairman, Karl Casey.
The fourth race of the day was also named in his honour.
