The Waterford County Board hope that two rounds of the senior hurling and football championships will be played in April.
Waterford clubs last night voted to change the format to three groups of four.
The three group winners and the highest ranked second placed team will progress to the quarter finals. The other eight teams will vie for the remaining four places in the knockout stages
The draws for both championships were made last night
Senior hurling champions Ballygunner are in Group A alongside Abbeyside, Ballyduff Upper and newly promoted An Rinn
2017 runners-up De La Salle are joined by Fourmilewater, Dungarvan and Tallow in Group B
Group C consists of Lismore, Passage, Mount Sion and Roanmore
In senior football, Stradbally will face Ardmore, Dungarvan and Portlaw in Group A
The Nire, Clashmore, Ballinacourty and Brickey Rangers make up Group B
In Group C, beaten semi finalists An Rinn and Kilrossanty are accompanied by Rathgormack and Gaultier
