Former Munster and Ireland rugby international Donncha O'Callaghan is set to join Davy Fitzgerald's coaching ticket with the Waterford senior hurlers in 2023.
The 43-year-old will come on board in the Deise backroom team as a performance coach.
O'Callaghan features as a coach with Fitzgerald’s on RTE's 'Ireland’s Fittest Family' which returns to screens this weekend.
The former Ireland star links up with Fitzgerald, his selectors Eoin Kelly and Peter Queally as well as another renowned strength and conditioning coach in John Matthews.
Matthews was a coach for both Wexford's senior camogie side and footballers in recent seasons as well as working with many Dublin underage sides.
O'Callaghan will a bring a wealth of experience with him having lined out 96 times for Ireland and 268 times for Munster. He follows other rugby stars such as Sean O'Brien, Gordon Darcy and Denis Leamy in joining inter-county coaching set-ups.
