The Waterford minor ladies football team will tackle Armagh in the All Ireland C Final on Saturday in Kinnegad.

Pat O'Brien's side netted eight goals in the semi final win against Leitrim earlier this month. "It was a huge confidence booster," captain Lia Ni Arta told WLR Sport. "New girls came on. It was unreal experience for them and they've put themselves in for places for the final now."

Management put together a tough fitness regime during the summer according to goalkeeper Katelyn Gardner. "Raivis Zakis is super with us and he made up workouts for us to do. It was tough. We were on beaches, we were in the woods and there was a horse track as well! Queallys horse track in Abbeyside. Not a great sight to be seeing!"

Ni Arta remembers that training session. "It was unbelievably tough! With the sand and everything, it was really hard going. Look, in fairness, it stood to us."
