It is now one win and two narrow losses for the Waterford Ladies footballers in 2025 after another close encounter in the National Football League Division 1.
It was a tough start for the Déise Ladies with their hosts getting off to a blistering start Kerrie Cole's goal for Meath within 23 seconds.
Bríd McMaugh got the scoring going for Waterford with an early point to settle the side after the early breakthrough.
Lauren McGregor raised Waterford's solitary green flag, bringing the match back to a one score game at 1-06 to 1-03 in the first half.
The Déise Ladies trailed their hosts by 5 points at the break on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-04.
Kerrie Cole would begin the second half just as she had started the first as she raised yet another green flag for the hosts to take them 7 points clear.
However, Waterford came back yet again, chipping away at the deficit.
But time ran out with Waterford trailing by one point on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-13.
Waterford's next fixture sees them travel to face 2023 champions Dublin on Sunday, February 23rd.
