Wicklow 3-17
Waterford 1-19
Paul Shankey's Waterford Footballers almost pulled off an incredible comeback at Aughrim Park this afternoon.
The Déise found themselves 12 points behind at the break on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-04.
However, an impressive second half showing reduced the arrears to just four points by the time the referee had blown his whistle for the final time.
The Nire's Dylan Guiry notched a late goal, raising Waterford's solitary green flag for the day.
However, time ran out for the Déise after a strong second half performance.
Waterford's next match sees them face Tipperary at 6.30pm on Saturday, February 15th at Fraher Field.
