The Waterford county board have started their search for a new senior hurling manager by appointing a four man selection committee.

Chairman Sean Michael O'Regan, county secretary Pat Flynn, CEO of Nemeton TV Irial Mac Murchú and former Waterford captain Fergal Hartley will sit on the panel. Expressions of interest are currently being sought for the position. The closing date is Monday, July 25.

Liam Cahill stepped down as Déise boss last week after three seasons in charge. He took over from Colm Bonnar as Tipperary manager on Monday.

Waterford won their fourth league title in April but crashed out of the Munster championship in May after defeats to Limerick, Cork and Clare.
