Waterford’s Dean Finn has qualified for the next round of the MODUS Super Series after an impressive opening day performance.

Finn finished second in his group and will be back in action tonight at 7:45 pm, where he takes on Alex Spellman. The top two players will progress to the semi-finals, with a £5,000 prize on offer for the overall winner.

The Waterford native produced a strong turnaround on day one, recovering from an early setback to put himself in a commanding position.

Finn faced a difficult start against tournament favourite Jamai van den Herik, suffering a 4-1 defeat in his opening match of the night.

However, he responded brilliantly, showing both resilience and quality, and won his next three matches. He edged a tight encounter against Ryan Bradley 4-3, before following up with an impressive 4-1 victory over Lewis Pride.

He then rounded off his night in style with a dominant 4-0 win against Dmitrii Rogov, highlighting his growing confidence and form as the evening progressed.

Those results left Finn comfortably in second place in the group standings, putting him in a strong position heading into the next stage of the competition.
