De La Salle were crowned County U20A hurling Champions this afternoon thanks to a 1.14 to 0.13 win over Abbeyside at Fraher Field.

Salle trailed by three points at the half-time break with Abbeyside putting 9 points on the board in the opening period.

Immediately after the resumption, the positional switch of Reuben Halloran to full forward proved to be the difference. He hit 1.1 in those early minutes of the second half. His green flag was set up thanks to a long ball from Alex Keane with Halloran blasting it to the back of the net.

The goal put Salle a point in the ascendancy and they would refuse to relinquish that lead for the remainder of the game.
