Goals from Thomas Douglas, Jack Twomey and Eddie Meaney got De La Salle off to a winning start in the Co. Senior Championship at a breezy Fraher Field last night.
Reuben Halloran fired over twelve frees as Ian Flynn's charges ran out nine point winners over Dungarvan (3-23 to 2-17 the final score).
Michael Kiely kept Dungarvan (who played with wind advantage in the opening half) in touch from placed balls, he ended the hour with a personal tally of thirteen points. The sides went in level at the break.
Patrick Curran netted both goals for the Blues in the 2nd-half but it was the Gracedieu side who powered their way home.
De La Salle lost influential captain Eddie Barrett to a leg injury in 1st-half injury time.
