Tramore’s Anna Dawson is through to the semi finals of the AIG Irish Women’s Close Championship at Ardee Golf Club.
Having come through the strokeplay stages she faced leading qualifier Katie Poots of Knock Golf Club in this morning’s last sixteen and after finishing tied through eighteen holes,  a birdie on the twentieth saw her through to the afternoon session.
In this afternoon’s quarter final, the Tramore golfer opened up a two hole lead over Shannon Burke of Ballinrobe and was never caught as she closed out the match on 17 to win 2 and 1.
She will now face Zoe McLean-Tatan in tomorrow morning’s semi-final. The Romford golfer was a 4 and 3 winner over Kate Dwyer of Rossmore.
