Davy Fitzgerald has committed his future to the Wexford senior hurlers.

The Clareman will take charge of the Model County for a further two years.

Fitzgerald guided Wexford to the Leinster Championship title this summer.

He was the subject of reported interest from Galway.

Meanwhile, the shortlist of three for Footballer of the Year is made up entirely of Dublin players following their All Ireland victory.

Goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton, wing back Jack McCaffrey and forward Con O’Callaghan make up the nominations.

Cluxton has never won the gong.

In total, Dublin have 13 nominations, with finalists Kerry picking up 9, Donegal 6, Mayo 4, while both Meath and Tyrone have 3 players on the shortlist.
