Wexford Senior Hurling Manager Davy Fitzgerald is hoping Tadhg De Burca will escape sanction after he was handed a red card in Sundays quarter final.

He was sent off after a clash with Harry Kehoe and as things stand, is set to miss the All-Ireland semi-final clash with Cork in Croke Park on August 13.

Speaking to WLR Sport, Davy Fitzgerald says he does not think there was much intent and he hopes common sense will prevail.

Davy says he hopes his comments about Michael Duignan and Henry Shefflin will open up a debate about the game of hurling.

He says he has a different opinion on the use of the sweeper system and Managers should be allowed to have a say.

The Wexford Manager is hoping Waterford can lift the Liam McCarthy this year.
