Ballygunner man Darragh O’Sullivan has been appointed as the new manager of the Waterford minor hurlers.

O’Sullivan takes the reins on a two-year term with an option of a third alongside selectors David Franks and Darragh Duggan.

He stepped down as Gunners boss earlier this year having guided them to an eleventh consecutive Waterford Senior Hurling Championship title.

O’Sullivan guided the Gunners to six successive Waterford Senior Hurling Championship titles, three successive Munster club titles and their famed 2022 All-Ireland success in his time at the helm.

He also had a storied playing career with the club, winning six county medals and a Munster club medal between 1992 and 2004.

He succeeds All Ireland winning boss James O’Connor who replaces Ken McGrath at under-20 level.
