Daniel Wiffen has reached a new record by claiming a gold medal in the 800-metre freestyle swimming final.
This is Ireland's second medal of the games held in Paris.
Swimming from lane four, the Armagh man - the fastest qualifier for the final - finished in 7:38.19, a new Olympic record.
Wiffen still has to take part in the 1500m and marathon swims at the games.
More as we get it.
