Waterford cyclist Damian Vereker competes in the B Individual Time Trial alongside pilot Mitchell McLaughlin at the Paris Paralympics.
The race commences at 12.30pm (Irish time).
Vereker and McLaughlin finished ninth in the time trial at the 2023 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships.
Damien Vereker was the July winner of the Waterford Sports Awards, in association with WLR and the Granville Hotel.
Upon accepting the award, the Larchville man was very appreciative of the support within the county.
“I couldn’t do it without them - the support from the people of Larchville, Lisduggan and Lismore. It’s just unbelievable - and of course, the lads in the Comeragh Cycling Club. I’m really just overwhelmed by the level of support that I get. I’m really proud to be accepting this award.”
