Rathgormack forward Jason Curry will captain the Waterford football team in 2024.

He was named man of the match in the county final win over The Nire last October after shooting 1-4 (1-2 from play). In a white and blue jersey, Curry claimed a McGrath Cup medal in 2015 and kicked six points in the 2018 All Ireland qualifier victory against Wexford.

"He comes from a great football club and a great family," Déise boss Paul Shankey told WLR Sport. "Jason has shown great leadership over the last couple of weeks and we're pleased to say that Jason will lead the group out."

Dermot Ryan from The Nire will act as vice-captain. "Two very strong characters, the group look up to them and they do their talking on the field."
