2021 All Star nominee Shona Curran has called time on her inter county camogie career.
The Lismore midfielder joined the Waterford set-up in 2008 and was a key player at junior, intermediate and senior level. She won All Ireland intermediate titles with both club and county and received an All Star nomination last October.
Paul Lyng called her into the Déise first team when she was 18. She was selected at full back on the 2010 Soaring Stars team.
She experienced All Ireland heartbreak in 2009 and 2010 as Waterford lost junior finals to Offaly and Antrim. That all changed in 2015. She was an impact sub in both the All Ireland intermediate semi final and final. Curran started the comeback against Meath with 1-1 as Waterford won a thriller by 3-10 to 3-9. She changed the course of the game again when introduced during the first half of the final against Kildare.
On the club scene, she captained Lismore to All Ireland glory in 2014 when they beat Shamrocks Ballyhale after a replay in Clonmel. In a golden period for the black and amber, she also won six county senior titles and five Munster intermediates.
