The County Senior Hurling Championship is into it's second weekend, with the Champions set to dust off the cobwebs as they begin the defence of their title with knockout games starting to emerge down in the Junior grades.
Thursday
The East of the county hosts three Junior Hurling Games.
A Junior A Group B meeting will see Roanmore facing Mount Sion. Roanmore occupy top spot with two wins in two outings, while Mount Sion have played and lost one.
In Junior C there are two group B games. Passage welcome Ballyduff Lower for a meeting of the top versus the bottom of the table. Passage have two wins from their three games to hold the top of the standings, while Ballyduff Lower are without a win after three outings.
In the same group, Tramore welcome Portlaw, looking to go level with their guests in third with a win.
All games on Friday evening are underway from half past seven.
Friday
Roanmore begin their Senior Hurling Campaign. The Skyblues who have knocked on the door in recent years and will hope to get off to a positive start against Clonea in Walsh Park. Clonea were comfortable winners against Tallow last weekend, with two points secure on the table.
They throw in at half past seven this evening.
At the same time in the Premier Intermediate, table-topping Affane/Cappoquin/Tourin take on second-placed Brickey Rangers in Fraher Field.
While in the Eastern Intermediate, Dunhill is the venue for the meeting of Ballyduff Lower and Erins Own. These two teams are tied on four points apiece with two wins each to date. They throw in at quarter past seven.
It's also a 7.15 pm start for the Junior A Group B meeting of Ballygunner and Ballydurn in Kill.
While five Junior Games get going from seven. Two games in the Western Junior A will see Abbeyside/Ballinacourty take on Kilrossanty in An Rinn, with Stradbally and Fourmilewater lining out in Colligan. The Western Junior B pits Lismore against Tallow in Cappoquin, with Geraldines meeting Old Paris in Bushy Park.
While the only Junior C game in the West is a quarter-final meeting between Shamrocks and Clashmore/Kinsale Beg in Ardmore.
All those games get going at seven.
Saturday
The champions Ballygunner open up the defence of their title when they head West to Fraher Field to face Dungarvan. The Gunners are 53 games unbeaten in the county and start out on their challenge to claim an 11th consecutive News and Star Cup. Dungarvan meanwhile lost their curtain-raiser with Lismore last weekend.
They'll throw in at quarter to seven, while at five, Fourmilewater will enter the championship opposite Abbeyside/Ballinacourty, also in Fraher Field. Abbeyside started with a win over Ferrybank last weekend and will now look to top the group with a win over the Nire men.
Earlier in the afternoon, Lemyrbien hosts a Premier Intermediate doubleheader.
Dunhill take on Shamrocks from 2, with the meeting of Tramore and Clashmore/Kinsale Beg following at 3.45 pm.
In the Western Intermediate, they've reached the knockout stages where Colligan take on Slaibh Gua/St Marys in the preliminary quarter-finals at Fraher Field from 2 pm.
There's also intermediate action in the East of the county.
Butlerstown and St Mollerans head to Walsh Park for a 2 o'clock start, while the game between Portlaw and Saviours has been conceded by Saviours.
In the Eastern Junior A, there are two games with Fenor and Passage kicking things off in Walsh Park from four o'clock. That's followed by another Group A meeting between St Marys East and De La Salle in Butlerstown from half six.
Two Junior B games in the West will see An Rinn take on Brickey Rangers in ABbeyside at half-five, with Abbeyside/Ballinacourty facing Kilgobnet in Dungarvan at two.
Down in Junior C, they've reached the knockout stage where Fraher Field hosts the quarter-final meeting of Kilrossanty and Ballysaggart at three.
Sunday
The only senior game of the day is at half six in the evening with De La Salle and Mount Sion heading to Walsh Park. Sion sit on top of Group B following their win over Passage in the curtain raiser, while De La Salle will play their first game this evening.
Earlier in the afternoon, a top-of-the-table Premier Intermediate clash takes centre stage at Fraher Field. Ballygunner and Ballysaggart both look to claim sole spot at the top with a win, with both sides winning their opening games. They'll be underway from 12.30 pm.
Three Eastern Junior B quarter-finals throw in at 10.30 am.
Mount Sion host Tramore, St Mollerans head to Dunhill and Gracediue is the venue for De La Salle and Ballygunner.
Later in the day, the final East Junior B game quarter-final will see Roanmore and Kilmacthomas do battle in Cleaboy from half seven.
