Villa manager Conor Coad has joined League of Ireland First Division side Cobh Ramblers as General Football Operations Manager and Assistant Head Coach.

Coad, who guided Villa to four consecutive Waterford Premier League titles, a Jimmy Searson Ardagh Premier Cup, Munster Champions Trophy and the FAI Junior Cup - joins Richie Holland as an assistant to manager Michael McDermott.

Michael McDermott expressed his enthusiasm about the new hires: “The addition of these talented coaches is a testament to our commitment to excellence. Together, we will strive to create a competitive and exciting squad that our fans can rally behind every Friday night. Their expertise and passion for the game will complement our vision and elevate our performance on the pitch.”

Conor started in our renowned Academy at the age of four and progressed to win many honours as a Player with the Club and reprentative honours with the Waterford Schoolboy League  before playing for and managing Waterford F.C The highlight of Conor's managerial career would be winning the Football Association of Ireland Junior Cup in 2022 with Villa Football Club Waterford and building on this success where the Team has now won four local Premier Leagues in a row, a Waterford League Presidents Cup an Ardagh Cup victory and his team became the first Waterford Club to win the Keanes Jewellers  Munster Champions Cup."

Coad was on the sidelines on Friday night as Cobh came from behind to knock Kerry FC out of the Munster Senior Cup and progress to the quarter-finals.

Villa meanwhile continued their 100% record so far this season yesterday when they defeated Kildare side Clane United 6-0 in the FAI Junior Cup Round of 32.
