
Waterford FC attacker Conan Noonan has been nominated for the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland / Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month Award for February.
The Kildare youngster joined the Blues on loan from Shamrock Rovers and has hit the ground running – scoring in a 3-2 win against Sligo Rovers, before picking up an assist in a 2-1 win away at Derry City as well as scoring and assisting twice in a Munster Senior Cup win against Treaty United.
The 22-year-old was also named Man of the Match last night as the Blues defeated Cork City 2-1 in a Munster derby at the RSC – moving top of the League of Ireland Premier Division table as a result.
Noonan is nominated alongside Shelbourne’s Sean Boyd, Galway United’s Patrick Hickey, Aidan Keena of St. Patrick’s Athletic, Drogheda United’s Conor Keely and Shamrock Rovers man Matt Healy.
Noonan and the Blues are back in action on Friday night when they play host to Bohemians in a 7.45pm kick-off.
Elsewhere, Cork City take on Sligo Rovers, Derry City play host to Galway United, Shelbourne go up against Drogheda United and Shamrock Rovers welcome St. Patrick’s Athletic to Tallaght for a Dublin derby.
