Goals in either half from Paul Whyte and Alan Dunwoody gave Kilrossanty a 2-10 to 0-8 win over St Saviours in the Waterford SFC at Walsh Park.
Donie Fitzgerald was top scorer for the green and gold with five points. Darren Mulhearne's side finish second in Group B behind Rathgormack.
Former Waterford midfielder Tommy Prendergast was ruled out for Kilrossanty due to injury. Goalkeeper Paul Whyte converted a penalty in the sixth minute after Seamus Fitzgerald was brought down. Two goals in two games. The former county man also tipped over a shot from Darragh Corcoran. Donie Fitzgerald, Joey Veale and Seamus Fitzgerald got two points each as the green and gold led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break. Wind assisted Saviours struck seven wides.
On 41 minutes, Josh Kay knocked down a high ball from Seamus Fitzgerald to Alan Dunwoody. The corner forward dummied goalkeeper Anthony Kiely before he finished to an empty net. At the other end, Whyte produced another big save from Dan O'Connor. Donie Fitzgerald added three points to his tally. The winners could afford to shoot twelve wides (nine in the second period).
Garth Duffy shot four second half points for Saviours. Darragh Corcoran, who fought hard from beginning to end, finished with three.
Both sides will enter the hat for the preliminary quarter finals on Sunday.
