Comeragh Rangers are back to back Waterford Ladies Football champions after a 4-11 to 0-7 win over Ballymacarbry at a wet and windy Cappoquin Logistics Fraher Field on Friday night.

Clodagh Power, Katie Murray, Emma Murray and Kaci Brazil all raised green flags for Ger Power’s charges. Déise captain Emma Murray scored 1-4 from play in a Player of the Match display at midfield.

A purple patch of 1-5 without reply in the second quarter gave Comeragh a 1-8 to 0-4 half time advantage. The defending champions carried the ball confidently against the strong wind. Clodagh Power looped the ball into the far corner of the net on 25 minutes after holding off four Ballymac defenders. Two minutes earlier, she chipped a penalty over the bar. Mairéad Power and Katie Murray accounted for two points apiece.

Aileen Wall blasted a Ballymac goal chance left and wide in the twelfth minute. Bríd McMaugh landed two frees while Mairéad Wall hit a long range point from play. They went 14 minutes without a first half score before Clare Walsh struck in injury time.

Laura Mulcahy moved to midfield and reduced the gap to six but that was as close as Ballymac got. Katie Murray crashed the ball to the bottom corner on 43 minutes after she was supplied by Eibhlín Power. Her sister Emma glided across the ground with ball in hand and shot three second half points.

With five minutes left, the triplets combined as Aoife and Katie set up Emma for a goal. Comeragh emptied the bench after that and substitute Kaci Brazil rattled the roof of the net with her first touch.
