Harry Colbert has beeen selected to represent Ireland at the World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade.
The event takes pace this Saturday with Colbert named on the two-man team to challenge in the U20 race.
The Waterford AC athlete was part of the team that won gold at last year's European Cross Country Championships in Belgium.
He's joined by Derry's Seamus Robinson in Belgrade this weekend.
In 2023, Colbert missed out on the majority of the year's competition through injury and illness but returned to fitness in time for the National Cross Country Championships at Gowran Park where he ran to a third-place finish. That result booked his place on the plane to Belgium where he was 40th home overall, but crucially, part of the Irish team to take the top prize.
The event in Belgrade is underway on Saturday morning with all the action being broadcast live on Virgin Media 2 from 9.50 am.
