Kelyn Cassidy gets back in the ring this afternoon at the Golden Belt Nicolae Linca Tournament in Romania.
The Ballybeg boxer cruised through his quarter-final bout with a first-round stoppage of Romanian native Catalin Florin Serban.
The home fighter received a standing 10 count in the opening seconds of the first round with Cassidy awarded a unanimous decision victory.
Today he faces Ruzmetov Dilshobek of Uzbekistan in the semi-finals - with the pair expected in the ring just after five o clock Irish time.
The Uzbekistani claimed silver at the world championships in 2019 and is the current Asian light heavyweight champion. This fight carries a layer of intrigue as it was Dilshobek who bounced Emmett Brennan from the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He would go on to the round of 16 in Japan where he was beaten by Loren Alfonso.
