It all ended too early for Craig Breen at Rally Sweden.

Before the Waterford man could even get going in the Arctic Circle, his weekend came to a close after hitting a snowbank on stage two.

A red flag went up from the stewards bringing the stage to a halt with  Takamoto Katsuta, Thierry Neuville, and Gus Greensmith all told to drive home on road mode.

It wasn't Breen's first mishap as he had already overdone a right-hander and run into a bank on his outside, while he managed to continue despite minimal damage.

The second incident was more serious as he went off the road and beached the car on another bank of snow, with he and co-driver Paul Nagle being heard saying "We're not getting out of there".

The pair were unharmed in what was a minor bump, but the distance they had traveled off course meant they couldn't get the car out of the snow.
