Waterford FC are on the road for the second time this Bank Holiday weekend on Monday, as the Blues make the journey to Tallaght Stadium for theit latest SSE Airtricity Premier Division clash against Shamrock Rovers.

The Blues make the journey to Tallaght on the back of a hard-fought three-points away in Sligo on Friday night. Christie Pattisson’s early second-half strike proved the difference between the sides at the Showgrounds, as the Blues picked up their fourth win of the season.

The Blues fell to a narrow defeat against the Hoops in their meeting earlier in the season, as Darragh Burns & Roberto Lopes scored either side of a Robbie McCourt free-kick to secure the points for Stephen Bradley’s side on the Bank-Holiday Monday in April.

Keith Long’s men will look to add to their three points they picked up on Friday with a result against the reigning champions on Monday, as the Blues occupy seventh spot in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table with 16 points from 13 games.

Stephen Bradley’s side welcome the Blues to Tallaght Stadium on Monday on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Dublin rivals Bohemians on Friday night in Dalymount Park. After falling a goal behind through a Filip Piszczek strike, Johnny Kenny equalised just on the stroke of half-time to secure a point for the Hoops.

After a slow start to the season, the Hoops have hit into gear in recent weeks – heading into Monday’s game unbeaten in six games and sitting in second-place in the league table on 24 points after 14 games – just two points behind leaders Shelbourne.

Blues midfielder Harvey Macadam is a doubt for the game while Kacper Skwierczyński misses out due to a hip injury.

WLR will broadcast the game live this evening thanks to McConnell's Toyota Waterford with our commentary team of Gavin Whelan and John Frost.
