Waterford FC have a day to prepare for their crunch clash with Galway in the league of Ireland First Division, but Danny Searle will have to plan his approach without the services of one of his key attacking players.
Louis Britton’s loan spell at the RSC has come to an end with the English striker making the move to Munster rivals Cork City.
My loan @WaterfordFCie has now come to an end. 17 games, 10 goals. It’s been a great experience for me, especially playing football again with a smile on my face. I would just like to thank everyone who has helped me over the past 5 months. 💪🏼⚽️ pic.twitter.com/lLAXcMwHPE

Cork have a four point cushion at the top of the First Division table, and Britton will be a valuable asset to their challenge for automatic promotion.

Scoring 10 goals in 17 games, the 21-year-old was to the fore for former and current Waterford management in their climb up the league table.
The away trip to Galway o Friday night poses a challenge that new boss Danny Searle has yet to encounter. Eight straight wins remains an impressive record, but a number of those wins came against sides that the Blues would have been expected to beat.
Galway poses the first top-end challenge that the club has had in some weeks with the Tribesmen 4 points to the good of their South-East counterparts.
While losing some key talent up front, the Blues have also lost the services of defender Kevin Joshua. The West Brom loanee joined the club in February at the same time as Britton but will not extend his stay at the RSC.
