
The Blues return to the RSC for the first time in three weeks on Friday night, as they welcome Stephen Kenny’s St. Patrick’s Athletic side to their home ground for their latest meeting against the Inchicore outfit.
With three wins & three losses to their name this season, the Blues go in search of defeating the Saints at the RSC for the third consecutive game – after defeating St. Pats in both meetings at the RSC last season (3-1 & 1-0).
Heading into Friday’s game, Waterford sit in fifth position in the league table with nine points to their name from their opening six games – just two points off early pace-setters Drogheda United FC.
The Saints make the journey down to the RSC on Friday looking to continue their recent good run of form they picked up before the international break.
After a slow start to the season with one point from their opening two games, Pat’s have since gone on to win three of their next four games – most recently a commanding 3-0 win at home to Bohemian FC in front of over 5,000 fans a fortnight ago.
The Saints currently occupy second place in the league table heading into Friday’s game, with a sole point separating the sides ahead of kick-off.
The Blues will be without the services of Any Boyle for Friday’s game due to a hamstring injury.
Ben McCormack & Trae Coyle were both named on the substitutes bench in our most recent game against Galway United FC, after overcoming their respective injuries.
