Waterford FC remain 9 points clear at the top of Airtricity League Firts Division following a big home win over Athlone Town last night.
Davy McDaid opened the scoring for the Blues on 10 minutes, however Athlone's Dragog Sfrijan levelled the tie just 3 minutes later, when he tapped home from close range
Waterford's Derek Daly bagged a goal-of-the-season contender just after the half hour mark to leave it 2-1 at half time.
Substitute Dean Walsh sealed the game for the home side on 67 minutes.

Speaking after the game, man-of-the-match Derek Daly paid tribute to his sides defensive work thorughout the season so far.
