Waterford FC continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought two all draw with Galway United at Eamonn Deasy Park.

They doubled their lead on 38 minutes after great work on the right between Wordsworth, Junior and Patterson whose low cross was turned home by Eddie Nolan.

However, the home side pulled one back just four minutes after the restart when a superb cross from the right from Manu Dimas was met perfectly by Jordan Adeyemo and he gave Brian Murphy no chance with a powerful header.

Waterford’s blushes were spared by Murphy who got a leg to Mikie Rowe’s shot on 73 minutes but there was nothing he could do three minutes later when David Hurley found Stephen Walsh on the left and he fired low past the goalkeeper for a deserved equaliser.

And Waterford’s woes were compounded with four minutes remaining when Taylor was sent off for striking Walsh.
