Bluegrass back Irish stable staff with Tramore Sponsorship for 2022/23

Bluegrass Horse Feeds based in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone have announced their sponsorship of Tramore racecourses best turned-out prizes and league for the 2022/23 season.

Bluegrass Horse Feeds will sponsor the best turned out for all 84 races as well as contributing €1,000 to the yard that wins the most BTO’s during the year.

Customers of the County Tyrone-based mill and manufacturer of Bluegrass Horse Feed had a successful 2022 Cheltenham Festival, with six winners in total fed on Bluegrass Feeds, including three out of the four feature races at the festival.

Henry De Bromhead’s unbeaten Honeysuckle defended her Champion Hurdle title under Rachael Blackmore, making it 15 runs in 15 wins. Henry went on to have a 1,2 in the Gold Cup where A Plus Tard under Rachael Blackmore just piped Minella Indo under Robbie Power to the post.

Gavin Cromwell’s Flooring Porter also defended his title by winning the Paddy Powers Stayers Hurdle ridden by Danny Mullins.

Gordon Elliott trained Tiger Roll under Davy Russell had to settle for 2nd place in the Glenfarclas Cross County Chase as his stablemate Delta Work under Jack Kennedy took the win. Gordon Elliott’s Commander Of Fleet ridden by Shane Fitzgerald also saw success taking the win in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle.

Speaking on the initiative Emmett Raher of Bluegrass horse feeds said, "We are delighted to sponsor Tramore racecourse in their initiative to recognise the hard work and effort the stable staff put into their horses. The €1,000 is a great incentive for all yards big and small as shown by last year’s winner Isobel Ryan from the John Ryan yard."
