Seamus Power is just one shot off the lead at the Pebble Beach Pro-am. He shot an opening round of 64 in California to sit comfortably behind Tom Hoge on the leaderboard.
Having taken last weekend off after three consecutive weeks of competition, Power left himself little time to get settled in once again opening up with a birdie on the first hole.
In all, he would go below par on eight occasions in what was a very impressive outing to start his weekend on the Spyglass Hill course.
Hoge holds the sole lead there on 9 under.
Fellow Irish man – and Cork native John Murphy is further back on 3 over – he was playing with Seamus for his debut outing on the PGA Tour but looks unlikely to make the cut for the weekend.
The pair will play together again this evening, teeing off at twenty to five Irish time.
