Waterford's Ben Johnson has been named in the Ireland senior mens' hockey squad that make the trip to India for the second stage of the 2024/25 FIH Pro League campaign.

Ireland will face both India and Germany across five days fom February 21st through to February 25th.

The 22-man Irish squad features uncapped duo Ben Ryder and Greg Williams amid a host of familiar faces.

They will face India back-to-back on February 21st and 22nd before a further two clashes against Germany on February 24th and 25th.

Ben Johnson is one of the youngest members of the squad and played a pivotal role with four goals in Olympic qualification last January before going on to represent his country at the Games in Paris in August.

In the first block of fixtures in the 2024/25 season’s League in December, Ireland started with a 3-3 draw against England before falling to an 8-0 reverse against the same opponents.

The hosts on that occasion Argentina also overcame them 1-0 and 4-3 to leave Tumilty’s side on the hunt for their first win in 2024/25 going into this quartet of games.
