Bohemian FC 1 Waterford FC 2
Waterford FC made it two wins in a row with a battling display to defeat Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
Interim manager Matt Lawlor was forced into a change at half time last week as Andy Boyle was forced out with injury and Kyle White came in for the second half and he stuck with that eleven for this game.
There was little between the sides in the opening forty five with both keepers reduced to mere spectators for the vast majority of the half but the game sprung to life in injury time as Waterford found a way through the defence.
A Ryan Burke clearance was deftly touched into the path of James Olayinka by Tommy Lonergan and the midfielder took one touch before unleashing a low piledriver that flew past Kasper Chorazka.
However Bohs were level within three minutes of the restart when a Jordan Flores header came off the post and bounced into the net with the help of Darragh Leahy’s knee.
Waterford continued to press forward and the lead was restored just before the hour when Chorazka failed to hold a Kyle White shot and Tommy Lonergan was quickest to react as he turned and fired home.
Despite intense pressure from the home side, they could not find away through and Waterford held on for a deserved three points.
