Pat Bennett has been appointed as the new manager of the Carlow senior hurlers.

The former Waterford hurler was most recently involved as part of the Antrim backroom team with Davy Fitzgerald.

He has also been a member of managerial teams in Waterford, Wexford and Kerry in the past.

Carlow will play in Division 1B of the National League next season as well as the Joe McDonagh Cup.
