Perhaps the big Sports story of the year came in October as Rathgormack landed their first Co. Senior football Championship title in 20 years.
First half goals from Paul Drohan and Willie Hahessy were the big scores as Ger Power's charges scored a 2-6 to 1-6 win over Ballinacourty in Fraher Field.

Ballygunner once remained the top dogs in Waterford club hurling as they delivered a sixth successive Co. title following victory over Eastern-rivals De La Salle in October.

Ballysaggart will play Senior hurling for the first time in their history after they defeated Ballygunner to lift the Co. Intermediate hurling title after a thrilling decider. 'Saggart reached the Provincial Final where they were narrowly beaten by Fr. O' Neill's of Cork.
