Henry de Bromhead's Minella Indo could potentially become just the third horse in history to win both a Cheltenham Gold Cup and an Aintree Grand National as the world's most famous steeplechase takes centre stage in Liverpool.
33 go to post at 4pm for the 4-mile 2-furlong war of attrition, and team Knockeen hold three chances in the form of Minella Indo, Ain't That A Shame and Eklat de Rire.
Stable jockey Rachael Blackmore rides former Gold Cup star Minella Indo, while David Maxwell takes the ride on Ain't That A Shame and Darragh O'Keeffe is on board Eklat De Rire.
Blackmore became the first female jockey ever to win the Grand National on board Minella Times in 2021.
"I'm delighted to have such a fantastic ride in the Grand National. It's such an important, special race. It's brilliant to be riding in the race", said Blackmore.
"I think if you are down at the start in the Grand National, you have as good a chance as anyone. But to be down at the start on a former Gold Cup winner will be brilliant. Minella Indo is a very classy horse who I'm hoping will take to Aintree well. It was really disappointing that he didn't get to run at Cheltenham, when the Cross-Country Chase was abandoned. But he's in great order and we're really hoping that he can run a big race. It should be a great race. It always is."
The favouritism for the race has been split between Willie Mullins' 2023 Irish Grand National winner I Am Maximus and defending champion, Corach Rambler.
