Tributes have poured in following the passing of Ballysaggart manager Adrian ‘Bobo’ Meagher.
Meagher passed away peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by his loving family.
He was a key man in the club for many years, guiding them to Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship glory in 2013, before losing out in the All-Ireland final to Creggan Kickhams.
The club also went on to win promotion to the senior grade for the first time in 2020 under Meagher’s guidance, having won the Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship title, before going on to finish as runners-up in Munster.
Tributes have poured in on the news of Meagher’s passing.
Ballysaggart GAA said: “The club is devastated to hear of the passing of our manager Adrian (BoBo) Meagher. To Dianne, Elaine, Anna, Katie Niamh & Darren, to Eileen, Honor, Benny, Vincent, Fergal & Matty and all the Meagher and Hickey families we offer our deepest sympathies at this time.”

“Ballysaggart Ladies Football Club was formed in 1996. Bobo played an integral part in the formation of the club when he accepted the role as trainer. He trained the junior team for 10 years and held the position of Chairman for 5 years. From the day the club was formed, Bobo was the club’s greatest supporter. His style of leadership was a one of clear communication, fairness, and a genuine interest in the well-being of each and every girl in the club. Up and down the line for over a decade, his voice was always one of encouragement.”
“Bobo will forever be remembered for his passion, love of club and jersey, admired for his motivational skills and vision for the game. His dedication, support and commitment to the club and the inspiration he provided to players, mentors and coaches will never be forgotten. Bobo has left a lasting legacy to the club that can never be replaced.”
