His son Gary said his dad had a deep love of football:

"Seamie played every match, even when he came back to playing again in his 40s, like it was a European match against Manchester United - it didn't matter whether it was a pub league match, whether it was a training match he always told us give everything you can because you never know when it's going to be your last match. He just loved playing ball and helping people to play ball".

Seamie, who was 81, died yesterday surrounded by his family.

Gary thanked all those who got in touch with the family to offer their sympathies.

Seamie is survived by his wife Helena, daughter Laura and sons Nigel and Gary, he was pre-deceased by his son David last year.
