Tottenham Hotspur are into the Champions League semi finals after they knocked out Manchester City on away goals following a thrilling game at the Etihad Stadium.

It ended 4-3 to City on the night and 4-4 on aggregate.

City thought they had won it when Raheem Sterling scored in stoppage time.

However the video assistant referee said the goal was offside and it was ruled out by the Turkish referee.

It was a dramatic reprieve for Spurs and signaled devastation for City, whose quadruple hopes went up in smoke.

Spurs benefited from V-A-R earlier in the half when Fernando Llorente bundled the ball home to make it 4-3.

City were 3-2 up at half time, as Bernardo Silva's deflected effort fell during a spell where Sterling and Son Heung Min both scored twice.

Sergio Aguero's goal on the hour looked to have won it for City, but Spurs were not to be denied.

Mauricio Pochettino's side will now play Ajax in the last 4.
