The Co. Senior football Championship commences this evening with three games down for decision.
Fraher Field stages a double header with defending champions, The Nire beginning their title defence with a clash against Ardmore.
The Nire lifted their ninth Conway Cup last season seeing off neighbours Kilrossanty in a hard fought decider.
Speaking to WLR Sport, Nire selector Tom Guiry says preperations haven't been ideal.
Tom says the squad are keen to get early points on the board.
Tom says they will be short some key players for this evening's opener.
That one is underway @ 6:30 pm, it'll be followed by the clash of Clashmore / Kinsalebeg and Rathgormack @ 8pm.

Portlaw have managed to survive in the Senior grade over since winning the Intermediate title in 2016.
Kilrossanty manager Emmett Doherty is looking forward to getting back into action.
Emmett told WLR Sport they won't be taking anything for granted going into this evening.
Portlaw manager is Meath-native Paul Shankey, he says it's going to be a difficult challenge.
