Exciting Munster derby in prospect this evening as Blues travel to Cork City

Waterford FC travel to Leeside tonight for the first Munster derby of the new Airtricity League Premier Division season as Cork City provide the opposition.

Both sides will be seeking their first victories following defeats in the opening series of games last weekend, the Blues conceding a last minute goal in a 2-1 defeat at home to Shamrock Rovers, while City suffered a 1-nil defeat at St. Pats.

Waterford FC midfielder John Martin says they were disappointed to lose to Shamrock Rovers last Friday.

Speaking to WLR Sport, John says games against Cork are always special.

John says the new players have settled in well to the squad.

Kick-off in Turners Cross is @ 7:45pm and WLR will broadcast the game live thanks to Clem Jacob Hire, with commentary team Ray Scott and Matt Keane.

Elsewhere this evening in the top flight, champions Dundalk will be hoping to pick up a first win fo the season tonight.

The Lilywhites travel to the North-West, taking on Finn Harps

Sligo manager Liam Buckley comes face to face with his former side St Pat's.

UCD are against Bohemians, and Shamrock Rovers host Derry City.
